(I think we can agree that the current PCG-Verse year can be made to be 2512, which is 500 years after the current day. It'll make things much easier. :P)
In the beginning, there was the Star Falcon. It was refitted into the Star Falcon II, and we saw it was good.
Then came the Star Cruiser, followed shortly by the Star Phoenix. All three fighters, Falcon II, Cruiser, and Phoenix still remain in service to this day, even though more modern and technologically advanced fighters such as the Spitfire, Spitfire II, Star Interceptor, Star Scout, Star Thunderbolt, Sky Hawk, Swallow, and Star Phantom have come, and have yet to go.
The Star Cruiser is the fourth Star Fighter in Star Force and Star Fleet to have a new version of itself released, the other three being the Star Falcon II, Spitfire II, and Star Phoenix II.
With the beginning of the summer of 2012, United Star Fighters Incorporated introduced their latest: The Star Cruiser II.
The SC2, dubbed so by critics, is longer, and overall shorter than the original Star Cruiser, though it actually gives the pilot and rear gunner more head room without chopping the roof.
There is also now a new pair of S-Foil wings on the underside of the main pair. The guns have been rearranged slightly on the main wings.
The front of the fighter has been made wider to accommodate 4 Torpedo Launchers, compared to the original 2.
The engines have been updated to be more powerful and give better performance. They have also been moved closer to the rear of the ship, giving it more forward power, but less maneuverability. The connector struts have been widened and thus strengthened.
Also the original Antenna and Radar sensor array has been redesigned with a new "Sensor Bar", which is far more efficient than the previous array.
Gigawanium Armor is also far more prominent in this ship. The wings and engines are better armored, as is the main fuselage.
All in all, this is a better starship, and in tests was determined to be just slightly slower than the Star Falcon II. You can thank the the Phoenix-based engines for that.
